Electrical Controls Technician 2

Job Description: Position - Electrical Controls Technician 2 with background in Machine / Industrial electrical control repair and installation. Looking for a experienced Controls/Instrumentation technician to install and integrate SCADA and telemetry products. Work included use of auto cad to generate electrical drawings for project submittals (from templates and can train if needed). Ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years experience/education supporting or installing electrical control systems and PLCs and knowledge of electrical theory, machine electrical controls, electrical safety practices, NEC and electrical construction practices. Knowledge in AutoCAD, PLC’s control systems and basic electronics / electricity required.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities – Support project managers and customers with implementation of SCADA projects as they pertain to the fabrication, repair, integration and assembly of industrial control panels and DFS systems. Provide support to the Systems Engineering Department, and electrical contractors, in field installations and integration of DFS RTUs through commissioning on site. Produce electrical and mechanical drawings for assembly and submittal review. Test overall project prior to delivery in house and support through commissioning on site. Use company procedures and practices to produce proposal documentation. Integrate and commission control panels following company policy and per approved project documentation. Thorough knowledge of company’s equipment to completely understand and integrate company telemetry system as it pertains to meeting customer’s automation and telemetry requirements. This is a “hands-on” installation / troubleshooting position requiring the ability to understand and repair electrical control systems with customers integrated equipment.

Physical Requirements – Ability to lift 80 lbs, and climb/work from 35 ft. antenna towers.

Special Requirements – Standard license required with clean record to be insured for company vehicle which is provided. Background and drug test will be required.

Geographical area of work: Work out of our Melbourne facility at 605 John Rodes Blvd. and on site work as required for projects at customers sites. These are primarily in the state of Florida but may involve other customers located in the SE United States

Compensation and Benefits: Pay Between $24.00 / HR and $28.00 / HR (with OT for over 40 hours per week), depending upon experience and education

Automation Specialist

Job Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development and integration support of automation projects of a variety of sizes and stages for our SCADA customers to include:
• Specification Review, Component Selection, and Integration Design
• PLC-based Control & Automation System Integration at Project Location
• System Checkout, Commissioning, Startup, and Troubleshooting
• Attend Project Meetings, Respond to RFIs from Engineers/Contractors
The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently while supporting and interacting with other team members through all stages of projects from inception to completion. Additionally, the candidate will be required to have good organizational, communication, time management skills. The candidate must be detail oriented, customer focused, and effective in adapting to company standards/procedures. Travel to the customer site is required as dictated by project schedules and a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities: Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this position a track record demonstrating proficiency in the following is required:
• PLC-based Control & Automation Systems (preferably in the water/wastewater industry)
• Integration of Instrumentation & Electrical Control Systems
• Control Systems Commissioning and Startup Support
• Microsoft Office Products

Experience & Education: We are seeking a highly experienced individual with a respectable track record to fill this position. A minimum of (5) years job experience in PLC-based automation integration and commissioning is required. A degree in related field is desired, but not required for consideration for this position.

Secondary Skills and Experience: A combination of the following is highly desirable, but not required for consideration for this position.
• Familiarity with SCADA Systems – Hardware & Software
• Experience with AutoCAD
• P&ID Drawing Design and Development
• Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants
• Industrial Pump Stations and Controls
• Working Knowledge of ISA, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NFPA-79, UL, CE Standards/Codes

Geographical area of work: Travel will be limited to Southeastern US with a majority in Florida.

Compensation and Benefits: Benefits include company sponsored 401K, medical/dental insurance, and tuition assistance are available for all employees. This is a full-time position. Salary range is $65,000 to $95,000 depending on experience and education.
