Data Flow Systems, Inc. is a rapidly growing and established telemetry company with national exposure located in Melbourne, Florida. DFS provides radio- and network-based telemetry/SCADA systems for water-related utilities. The systems are designed, manufactured, installed, and serviced by DFS factory personnel.

In other parts of the country, DFS has forged agreements with value-added resellers (system integrators who install and service our telemetry systems) and sales representatives. These business entities have acquired reputations in their fields as quality-minded, competent and reliable organizations and have earned our confidence in them as DFS spokespersons.

  • Engineering: electronic engineers, software engineers, applications engineers, systems engineers, draftsmen (CAD), project managers

Embedded Programmer

Job Description: Data Flow Systems is looking for an embedded programmer to write the firmware that runs at the heart of our products. You will actively maintain and improve the code for our existing products ranging from microcontrollers to embedded Linux SoCs, as well as develop new code for additional products. You will also be responsible for writing, maintaining, documenting, and unit testing the code you create. You will work with other team members to design the code and with test engineers to ensure its proper functionality in the final product. The ideal candidate will enjoy problem-solving, user-centered design, and working alongside a small team in a friendly environment that rewards diligent work.

Desired Talents
• At least 3 years of experience writing C code for microcontrollers or Linux-based systems (Debian preferred)
• Ability to document code cleanly and thoroughly
• “Self-starter” with an enthusiasm for problem solving and programming
• Desire to learn and work on a variety of projects
• (Bonus) Experience using git and cross-compiling software in a Linux environment
• (Bonus) Proficiency with debugging tools provided by most major IDEs (like Eclipse)
• (Bonus) Experience writing Linux kernel drivers

Senior Software Engineer

Job Description: Data Flow Systems is looking for a senior software engineer to help maintain and improve our products. This is a chance to work on a largely successful codebase and create a new generation of software solutions. Within our small development team, you will be instrumental in our success and will collaborate with multiple engineers with common interests. Our HyperServer Module is a C/C++ full-stack application that helps our customers manage and control a wide variety of telemetry hardware. Your work will have a direct impact on counties across the USA. The ideal candidate is an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, prides themselves in quality software solutions, and can operate alongside a small team in a friendly environment that rewards diligent work.

Responsibilities: 1. A strong understanding of the following:
a. Object-oriented Programming
b. Data Structures and Algorithms
c. Software Architecture
d. Software Design Patterns
e. Test-driven development
2. At least 6 years of experience developing with C/C++ and Linux command-line tools
3. At least 2 years of experience in Java and scripting (Bash/Python)
4. Web stack knowledge (LAMP)
5. Experience using git and cross-compiling software in a Linux environment
6. Experience in embedded programming (microcontrollers, Linux) is a plus

Software Engineering Intern

Job Description:
We are looking for a software engineering intern to design and implement software tools that will enhance UX/UI for our web applications and hardware products. As you learn more about our system, you will have the opportunity to contribute to other software projects and help us further improve and expand our SCADA system across the country. The ideal candidate will enjoy problem-solving, user-centered design, and working alongside a small team in a friendly environment that rewards diligent work.

• C/C++ & Java
• Bash & Python scripting
